In my home...there's this bond that two people can share. It's not marriage, but it's a way for two people to pledge themselves. They're called parabatai, and it's...I don't know how to explain it. Anyway, there's a vow they say to each other, from some holy book.

[George isn't sure which holy book. The Shadowhunters aren't particular about their religious symbolism.]
