how did you get here? through a wardrobe, or through death, or maybe a portal gone terribly astray. a ring. the roar of a lion. in the bottom of a cup. because you were looking for something, or missing something. no matter how you got there, this is where you belong.

[She smiles a little.]

There is no prize you seek?

If you want to give me something in token of your thanks, I certainly wouldn't say no.

[He kisses her again, slowly.]

I don't save your life for your affection. I do it because I love you, because if you died, I would also die.

[illuminescent]

Oh, no.

That cannot be.

[But she kisses him, and it's slow, gentle.]

When you are whole, I will give you something. For us. Not for saving me, but because I wish to. Because I love you.

[curlytop]

I will always cherish anything you give me, Lucy.

[One more kiss, lingering.]

But I should rest first. And use another rune before I do.

[illuminescent]

[She presses another kiss on his forehead, this time.]

I will go and find you something to eat.

[curlytop]

[He smiles, his eyes closing briefly.]

And arrange for your cot.

[illuminescent]

Yes, of course.

[And she goes away, arranging things; her maids insist on drawing a bath for her. She makes a team bring a cot, quiet, into the antechamber, and she brings a tray of food while George sleeps, heavy and quiet. It's hours before she finally capitulates to her bath, her hair pinned up, her own sores and cuts feeling like nothing now.

It's quiet and almost night. Someone has done the fire up in her room, where George is asleep, and someone else has laid out something for her to sleep in, when she finally does manage it. Lucy doesn't bother, though, to dress; only to dry off, and open the covers to George's bed.

She presses her mouth against one of his tattoos.]

You have slept an age.

[curlytop]

[It only takes one more rune to heal his wound, but he's exhausted from it. Maybe with practice it will get easier, but he's still very new to runes, and the sleep is definitely necessary.

When Lucy joins him in bed, George shifts toward her, smiling.]

Well, it's done me an age of good, my queen.

[illuminescent]

Has it?

I had them make food that would not taste bad cold.

[But she’s curling in against him, and it’s very clear she is not wearing anything.]

I think you must be ravenous.

[curlytop]

[George has certainly noticed her attire. He shifts onto his side and curls an arm around her.]

I'm completely famished.

[He kisses her, slow at first, but deepening.]

[illuminescent]

[She shifts too, until she's on top of him, and she's kissing him back, her hands in his hair. Hello, lover.]

Then you should eat.

There is food right there.

[But she's not moving, she's just kissing him more. She trusts that if she lands on something tender, he will tell her, he will move her.]

[curlytop]

[He moves with her easily, happily, his hands settling on her hips, leaning up into the kiss.]

I have everything I need right here.

[HIs hand curls around the back of her neck as he slides his other arm around her waist to pull her closer.]

[illuminescent]

Do you feel-

[She goes quiet.]

Are you uninjured now? Should you like all of me?

[curlytop]

[George trails his lips down Lucy's throat, but he stills at her question, teeth grazing her skin. He pulls back to look at her with awe on his face and in his voice.]

Yes, Lucy. I want all of you.

[illuminescent]

[She tugs at him a little, so she can kiss his neck, and the his collarbone.]

Yes.

[Her smile is soft.]

Of course, yes, my love, my heart.

You must know more than me in this.

[curlytop]

[His eyes close briefly, and his breath comes heavier as her lips move over him. He's sure she can feel his pulse pounding in his throat.]

What do you mean?

[illuminescent]

I mean.

All my experience, and all I know, has been with you.

[She didn't know anything about sex. She still knows very little. Edmund knows the most, because Edmund knows everything, and because Edmund is very appealing to girls.

But Lucy?

She has been so sheltered.]

[curlytop]

All my experience has been with you as well.

[Still, he knows he's probably got a broader base of knowledge than she does.]

Tell me what you know?

[Surely her maids? Someone has to have giggled something inappropriate into her ear?]

[illuminescent]

I know-

[Her cheeks start to burn, her face starts to scorch, practically. She wants to explain but this is harder than she thought.]

I know that you would be inside of me.

[curlytop]

[George smiles up at her gently, rubbing slow circles on her hips and thighs.]

Aye. I'd be inside you, as I've never been inside anyone.

What else do you know?

[illuminescent]

I know it is meant to feel good.

[So clearly she didn't get horror stories about how it should hurt the first time, so that's a plus.]

I know that-

-that men like it very much.

[curlytop]

[That had been one of George's concerns, so he's glad to have it removed.]

I hope that you'll like it very much too. I'll try, but you'll have to tell me if something feels good or doesn't.

You know that I shouldn't...finish in you?

[illuminescent]

Unless we want a babe, yes. I know that as well.

[And they do not. They do not want evidence of this, to spoil the maiden queen's reputation.]

I know that I think it is silly that this is an act that everyone judges others for.

[curlytop]

[They don't want that, but a part of George feels a little sad that it will never be something they can have.]

Aye, but they will judge you, if it comes out.

[illuminescent]

[She would, one day, like to have a family. A baby. She thinks they might manage it, somehow, but she cannot think how just at this moment.]

I will not let anyone judge me. Or you. Even if it means we keep this ours, yes?
