[She moves back against the bed, catching her heels in the sheets so she can work her way up, so she can tug the little bit of her nightdress away. This is what she wants; she wants him to love her, she wants to reaffirm connection to something. To her husband.

[She whispers it, her voice soft. There's finally a smile on her face.]

[He watches her lift her nightdress, and there's something so normal about it that the tightness in his chest loosens a little. She's still here and so is he.

Her smile sparks one on his face, and he moves to hold himself over her, bending to kiss her, softly, almost awed that he can still do this.]
