narnia au;

how did you get here? through a wardrobe, or through death, or maybe a portal gone terribly astray. a ring. the roar of a lion. in the bottom of a cup. because you were looking for something, or missing something. no matter how you got there, this is where you belong.
no subject
[She says it gently, and leans her chin on his chest, just against his tattoo.]
And here. With me. In my bed.
[And her smile is sweet, and happy.]
In our bed.
no subject
[He smiles as well, sleepy and pleased, and far more content than he's been in a long while now.]
And so are you. No royal summons.
no subject
[She says it, and she nuzzles closer to him.]
She is soft for newlyweds.
no subject
[His voice is hushed, and he brushes her hair back from her face, leaning in for a kiss.]
What would you like to do this morning, my lady wife?
no subject
I wish to-
-no. That is it.
[But she smiles a little.]
But you must tell the rest of my guard about everything.
no subject
[His arms curl around her comfortably.]
I will. This afternoon.
Though I reckon they'll've heard already.
no subject
But even if they have, you should tell them anyway.
[She thinks the entire country has likely heard by now. She doesn't think of the parties that will happen, late at night; the queen is married, to someone she loves, the queen is happy.]
no subject
It doesn't matter here, anyway, because Lucy is happy, and that makes George smile.]
I will do.
[They, at least, will be happy for him. And for Lucy.]
But that means getting out of bed.
no subject
They will think you very lazy.
[She's teasing, now, and it's so good.]
no subject
They will think something else entirely.
[They may love and respect their queen, but once rumors of marriage start flying, they'll come to the logical conclusion.]
no subject
That we are making them a prince?
[She laughs a little, but presses her nose against his neck, kisses him.]
Perhaps we will go on a grand tour. Make everyone in Calormen pretend they are happy for us, and know they are seething.
[Narnian whore, they would call her, behind her back. Where George might just be able to hear it. Lucy doesn't know that. George would.]
no subject
That's exactly what they'll think.
[At her suggestion of a grand tour, he shakes his head.]
I don't think we should leave Narnia again. Not any time soon.
no subject
[She laughs a little, because she's not ashamed of it. Why should she be?
He holds her and she feels whole.]
No? I do not particularly wish to leave Narnia either.
[They may have to, in the future. Lucy doesn't always get to stay; she may have to go, and George will go with her. That much is certain - she refuses to be parted from him.]
no subject
If they're saying it anyway, we might as well.
[Hey knows they'll have to go eventually, but not now, and not to Calormen. Rabadash has been humiliated, and his temper is cruel and sharp.]
We've only just returned. We should stay a while at least.
no subject
[She laughs, and clambers on top of him.]
My maids are coming any moment.
I cannot believe you will break their hearts.
no subject
Break their hearts? How am I breaking their hearts?
no subject
[She kisses him back, and refuses to get down.]
But you belong to the queen first.
And the queen, well. She belongs to you.
no subject
[Hence not noticing the giggling or the whispering.
He leans up into the kiss, his palms stroking down her sides slowly.]
The queen belongs to Narnia.
[He grins.]
Lucy's all mine, though.
no subject
[She laughs, and kisses him again.]
Yes, just so.
no subject
[He watched her enough that first night for it to be true.]
How much time d'you reckon we have before your maids interrupt?
no subject
[She starts to speak, but she can't finish.]
You know all the secret ways into my heart.
[She says it and almost lets out a sob of relief. instead she kisses him on the mouth.]
I think you have always known them. You were born knowing them.
[She turns a moment, just to look at the door.]
Turn us over. We have enough time.
no subject
He kisses her instead, and a moment later he's rolled them easy, laying Lucy on her back and beaming down at her.]
You're so beautiful, Lucy. [His smile grows.] My wife.
no subject
[She smiles.]
The most beautiful woman you've seen?
[She is fishing for compliments, but she likes to hear him say it. She loves him no matter what, but the way he only has eyes for her makes her more than a little pleased.]
no subject
The most beautiful woman I've seen.
[George wonders sometimes if it's a Shadowhunter thing, this singlemindedness in love. Simon with Isabelle, Jace with Clary, Alec with Magnus. It was like they fell in love and never even saw anyone else. He feels a slight pang at not being able to share this with Simon, talk to him about Lucy the way Simon had talked to him about Isabelle.
He sweeps the thought aside and pushes himself up to kiss her again.]
no subject
She raises her neck when he kisses down, and raises her head to kiss him on the mouth. Her hands press flat over his chest, and down, to his waist.]
You are the most wonderful man I know.
Better than any other.
[A high bar, hen her brother is the High King, when her brothers are both so good.]
